The Measure Of A Man 7/21/2017

Good Morning,

Friday arrived right on time just like I knew it would. I chose to make a big pot of Door County Hazelnut Crème Coffee to hold me over throughout the day. I pray your morning is blessed from above. Let's get this one started.

Paul D Moody wrote "The measure of a man is not the number of his servants, but the number of people whom he serves"

Mark 10:45New International Version (NIV)
45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

I believe a real man is a servant to many. This comes in different forms for a man. We serve those we work for, and work with. We should give an excellent example of service to our families and neighbors.  Jesus was the perfect example of a true servant. His goal was to serve others at all cost, including laying His life down, enduring pain and burial for all of us.

Too many men lord over their families, and those who may report to them. This is not being a leader and is a poor example of Godly living. In order to lead, people must follow, and when they see a leader setting the example of serving others they are more likely to follow.

Think this one through for today. Have you come to be served or to serve?

Marty
