Veterans Day And Dad

Good Morning,

This day will be filled with whatever God brings along. But to start it off without some Door County Pumpkin Spice Coffee would be just plain wrong.

Today in the United States we will honor our nations veterans. One who is dear to my heart is my Dad. Dad served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He tells us of the days he spent in Korea and how they fought. But that wasn't his final act of service. Today he is teaching at a small school in Upper Michigan. He is talking to the young children about serving and being a veteran. When I asked him what he would be talking about this year he told me that he would be talking about the two kinds of veterans. The ones who made it home and those who didn't. His goal is to show the kids the sacrifices made on our behalf by our fighting men and women. We are very proud of him and all or veterans, past and present. They might lay their rifle to rest but they never really stop serving.

1 Corinthians 16:13New International Version (NIV)
13 Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong

Veterans please accept this thank you for your service. You are loved.

Marty
