Orphans By Choice 11/2/2015

Good Morning,

The coffee maker is singing away and the tune is "Come and get some Door County Highlander Grog for your cup."

Matthew 12:30New American Standard Bible (NASB)
30 He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters.

When we surrender our lives to Christ it is permanent and Christians must identify with Christ in every aspect of their lives. It becomes a way of life. People get used to seeing you at church. It's not what time you show up it's what service. You are expected to be there. But yet many people choose to orphan themselves on Sundays with a myriad of excuses as to why they miss attending church. Clearly they misunderstand the meaning of family, vows and commitment.

Hebrews 10:24-26Common English Bible (CEB)
24 And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. 25 Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near

I really have to ask. Why would anyone ever want to be orphaned from a family? That's exactly what we do when we don't attend church, or we attend but don't get involved, regularly.

So what's your excuse? Send it to me if it is a new one that I haven't heard.

God bless,

Marty
