Let Me Call You Sweetheart! 2/11/16

Good Morning,

The life blood of the morning swirling in my mug is Door County Candy Cane Coffee. It woke me up with a gurgling noise as it boiled it's way into the carafe. As cold as it is this morning it is like medicine for cold tired bones.

This week as we approach Valentines Day a man made day of flattery and love I thought that we could jump in and banter on a few ideas of mine.

I think that one of the greatest gifts anyone can give is to decide to share their lives with someone until death do they part. I think it is an extreme luxury for someone to decide to let you call them "sweetheart". (My sweetheart is pictured above.) This is a sacrifice for someone to basically die to self and become someone's sweetheart and be known as that sweetheart. You lose a little of your identity.

Jesus set the example for this. He left heaven to become a man, die on the cross for our transgressions, never expecting anything in return. Wanting a relationship but never expecting it.

Romans 5:7-9New King James Version (NKJV)
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

As we walk through another  Valentines day let us do for others without expecting anything in return. And if someone let's you truly call them Sweetheart, isn't that a gift in itself?

Have a great day!

Marty
