Building A Team For Haiti 2/29/2016

Good Morning,

Monday arrived as I knew it would, so instead of fighting it I decided to join in, but right after I finish a cup of Door County German Chocolate Cake Coffee.

Yesterday our mission team that is going to Haiti this summer sold hot ham and rolls at church to help raise funds for the trip. The team worked very hard and the church responded with a large sum of money. Some people ate their ham right at church and some fellowship occurred as a result of the ham and rolls.

What I saw beyond the dollars and great ham was God at work building a team that will represent Him. I get to lead the team but the Holy Spirit is molding them and wiring them together as a group. God has assembled this team of 11 individuals, all with different styles, abilities and passions. Now that He assembled it, He is working to refine the team. How do I know this. I see the following attributes working within them. These can only come from God.

1 Corinthians 1:10

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.

Romans 15:5-6

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 4:10

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace:

It will be very interesting to see how God uses each one in different ways during this trip. It is very interesting to see Him work in their lives now. More to come. But if you are building a team to serve the Lord these are some great verses to help model the team.

God bless,

Marty
