Cherry Picking 7/26/13

Good Morning,
Friday once again and today I am celebrating Friday with a cup of Door County Coconut Crush Coffee.

I recently was watching the news on television when they ran a short spot on how the cherries were ripe and it was a great crop this year in Door County Wisconsin, home of my favorite coffees.

As I began to think about the cherries and all the different things that would be made from the cherries I could not help but think about Jesus. Once a cherry is crushed the juice that runs from it is dark red. Almost blood red. Most of us when we think of anything bloody we say "yuck". But as great things come from the juice of the cherry, the crimson blood shed by Jesus on the cross of Calvary paid the price for the sins of the world. For you and me. His body if you will was crushed and salvation is now offered to all who will receive it. So I see the beauty and love in His shed blood,

John 1:12-13
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

Revelation 1:5 - And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,Romans 5:9 - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Have you received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior? Are you willing to accept His free gift today by praying and inviting Him into your heart asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins? Do you know someone you should forward this message to? It is a matter of life in eternity with God or hell with Satan. You get to choose.

Have a wonderful day.
Marty
