Good Morning,
I started this day with prayer and a hot cup of Door County Highlander Grog Coffee. Let's hit this morning with gusto.
Proverbs 27:17 NIV As iron sharpens iron so one person sharpens another.
When I was still working in health care I had the opportunity to interface with many other departments other than my own. I worked with many other leaders and as old as I was getting to be in my work life, what I brought to the work setting was still valuable. Working closely with others in the different fields of health care also afforded me the pleasure of always learning something new. We saw goals in a unified manor and accomplished quite a bit.
In addition to the knowledge learned, I had to deal with different personalities and intensities. This too was learning moments. When it came right down to it. Each department had work to do. In the big picture all the departments had one goal in mind. The patient experience and outcomes were number one. Egos and differences of opinion needed to be left out of that experience. With that in mind, differences were resolved before any negative patient or staff impacts were noticed.
My point for the day is this. If you go home after a work day and you missed the opportunity to learn something new, stretch yourself, or understand another's opinion, you might not be going home on a happy note.
God bless,
Marty
