The Porch Light Was On 2/11/2025

 Good Morning,

My pot of Door County Brownie Batter Coffee just finished brewing and the chair is familiar so it is time to write.

Colossians 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds every thing together in perfect harmony.

Last night I returned home from visiting our daughter and as I turned into our subdivision our home was lit up with the outside lights welcoming me home. My wife met me at the door with a hug and to my surprise the dogs did not. The reception from our two furry family members was a little bit cold. They did not seem too happy to see me at first. I called out their names and when I got down on the floor it was game on. They warmed right up, tails waging and face licks were handed out in abundance.

My point for the day is this. Don't always assume that your actions, even though very honorable, aren't received in the way you thought they would go. People get their feelings hurt and you didn't expect that to happen. Life is one big learning module and it is important to keep learning as you go. It is important to learn and keep the lessons being taught in any situations life brings your way. I also learned from my return home is that timing is everything. Had I returned later into the night and the dogs were settled in for the night, I believe there would have been some barking going on. They had already somewhat adjusted to a new normal.

All is well today.  Rene is still sleeping, and the two foot warmers are asleep on my feet.

Have a great day!

Marty
