Learning From The Dog 10/1/2018

Good Morning,

I just poured myself a cup of Door County Bourbon Pecan Pie Coffee and I have to get to work early this morning. So I prayed, and now it is time to write.

Proverbs 18:9 New International Version (NIV)

One who is slack in his work    is brother to one who destroys.

I did a little hunting yesterday with some great guys and God blessed six of us with our limits in geese. The weather was rainy and cold. The rain wasn't a deal breaker but it was a pest to say the least. We were well concealed in some panel blinds and we were ready to shoot if something came our way. As I said, God blessed us and we were able to down some geese. We had three great dogs with us and there is a lesson to be learned from the way they worked.

Once some geese were downed ,each dog either took turns retrieving geese or when needed, all three went out to bring the honkers back. Here is the lesson. It was rainy and cold. The dogs had to sit patiently and wait for the chance to retrieve. But when they were called upon to work, they jumped right in with super enthusiasm. In once instance they had to work together to find one duck that was very elusive.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone went to work like the dogs? We could all probably show some extra enthusiasm today at work. We could all probably work with others a little better. We could all probably work without whining about the conditions as much.

The dogs do what they do to please their owners. Can we all go to work today and be happy to serve others?

Chew on that bone for awhile.

Marty
