Watch the Road Signs 10/2/13

Good Morning,

Today I am kicking off the morning with a hot cup of Door County Maple Coffee.

In World War Two one of the deceptions used by the Axis Powers was to change directions on road signs. This trick was used during the early days of D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge. This often led to the delay of the attacking forces or their demise.

Jesus warns us also about the deception Satan will use to divert us away from God.

Matthew 24:4-11

New King James Version (NKJV)
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all[a] these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences,[b] and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.

It is actually a brilliant military strategy that Satan uses during days of uncertainty and calamity. Satan causes much of the calamity in the world and when it gets a full head of steam, he puts false signposts throughout the world that claim to lead the way to Christ. There will be a host of false Christ options for one to choose from.

One way to tell that this is going on in the church today is when we see an out break of lawlessness within the church. The Bible is no longer good enough, a continual moral slide and acceptance of immorality within the church begins. The church will begin to tolerate society. There will be less people willing to preach the Gospel and less people willing to listen. This will be done in the name of Jesus. Loving the sinner does not mean tolerating the sin. But many will begin to preach that message.
Prepare yourselves for spiritual battle.

Therefore put on the full armor of God.

Ephesians 6:10-18

New International Version (NIV)

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Watch the signs.

God bless,
Marty
