Soupy Jello

Good morning. Greetings from Watersmeet Michigan. Visiting my Dad this weekend. Hope to shoot some grouse.

— Joshua 1:6-8 —
Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.

"Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

When I think of leaders I think of Jello. When you make Jello and pour it into a container it takes the shape of the container. Many leaders are like jello. They become what others want them to be (the golden calf) or pursue a route that is easier. But, yet that is not what God said to Joshua. In order to be courageous, one needs to be focused. Focused on God. This takes lots of prayer and obedience. You see God was telling Joshua that leadership would not be easy.  In order to be strong, you must know the plan. That means you stick with what is in God's Word and at no time stray from it.  You must be in the Word and live it.  If you find that you desire to become a leader, are a leader, or the head of a home. Be solid, not Jello, and follow these words that were given to Joshua.  There is nothing worse than soupy Jello on a hot day.
God bless,

Marty
